Tell us a little bit about your project?  What was your initial idea?

We bought the house in November 2013 and planned to develop it immediately. It had been rented prior to our purchase and the condition was terrible with damp throughout the property. The kitchen was in a poor condition and had been installed badly in the front room and the downstairs bathroom was also in poor condition so we decided that as well as upgrading the property we would move the kitchen into the space where the bathroom was and move the bathroom upstairs. We also decided to see if we could include a cloakroom toilet downstairs. We then hired an architect to come up with some ideas and to aid with the planning process.

Which inevitably led you to looking for a building company.  What was important to you when choosing your contractor?

We had three quotes for the job from builders all of which we considered capable to complete the project. Key considerations in the project were the price combined with the quality of the job. We also knew that the liaison with the builder would be a defining factor and chose Karl as we thought that he was the best match for us in terms of personality and would be the easiest to deal with. This was confirmed throughout the process with communication from Karl being excellent.

Obviously, when carrying out work on your home, you’ll have very definite ideas about what you want and how the final project will look.  Do you feel that 360 Home helped you to translate your ideas?

Definitely, we had the architect’s drawings and Karl really helped in transforming them into the final product. Communication was great – even calling us to check aspects such as the direction of the tiles.

Would you recommend 360 Home to others?

Yes. We are happy with our choice – we are considering doing another project in the future and we will contact 360 again!

Comment from Karl:

“This was another enjoyable yet challenging project, purely because we have worked in many of the houses in Hanover and can safely say we have not had another project similar to this – we always welcome something different!.  We think the use of space is one of the best yet.  We absolutely loved this renovation because by moving the bathroom upstairs, David and Antonia were able to create a fantastic kitchen area which opened out to their living room, creating a great ‘flow’ through the back of the property.  The bathroom upstairs, well, we love it!  I am envious of their sunken bath, which combined with the tiles adds a great wow factor to the bathroom.  The velux windows add extra light and the choice of light bathroom furniture and mirrored cabinet give the bathroom a deceptively spacious feel.  Our team enjoyed working alongside David and Antonia to help interpret their ideas.”
