" My decision to employ 360 Home was absolutely the right one."
Here Geoff talks us through his project:
Tell us a little bit about your project. What was your initial idea?
The idea was to create a fourth bedroom to give me additional space when my grandchildren come to stay and also to move my office from it’s ground floor position [cold in winter!] to somewhere warmer. In doing this I could also create a downstairs cloakroom [useful for BBQ’s and parties!].
If I couldn’t achieve these three things there was no point in carrying out the project so I needed help and advice to ensure my ideas could be realised.
Which inevitably led you to looking for a building company. What was important to you when choosing your contractor?
I needed to be sure that, not only would the project be completed successfully in terms of achieving what I wanted, on time and on budget, but that the quality of workmanship would be above average and the finished work would look very professional.
This looked as though it would be quite a complicated project in terms of timing and co-ordination and I also had a deadline which could not be moved.
In addition to the above I had a budget which could not be exceeded so I needed a contractor who could not only achieve this but one that I could trust and could talk to honestly and frankly about the issues that would inevitably be raised.
I had used 360 Home on a smaller project some months previously and was impressed by their approach, quality of workmanship and cost position. I wasn’t looking for the cheapest quote and was prepared to pay a little more to get what I wanted.
Do you feel 360 Home helped to translate your ideas?
They did so, not only by bringing their knowledge and experience to the project initially but also by using quality sub-contractors who appeared to be managed well by 360 Home.
What was the highlight of the project for you?
Being able to move in to my new space [bedroom and office] in the loft!
Finally, would you recommend 360 Home to others?
Without doubt and have already done so! This is not something I would do lightly, as it’s my judgment which is open to scrutiny. To be able to organise and carry out such a relatively complex project is not an easy task but Karl was able to do this very effectively. I now know that my decision to employ 360 Home was absolutely the right one.
Comment from Karl:
At 360 Home, we always welcome a challenge! The challenge on this project was its scale; being that it involved work in every room of the house and garden. The timescale for this project was tight, so it meant my organisational and management skills were put to the test. The highlight of the project for me (like with every other project we carry out) was seeing the finished product, especially the Oak detailing throughout the conversion. My particular likes were the Oak flooring and Oak staircase leading up to the loft, beautifully finished by our team.
